Lady Gaga’s whole existence sometimes feels like a living, breathing, bleeding, gender-bending work of art. Now, Madame Tussauds is planning to spend major bucks to turn the international pop sensation into a life-size waxwork.

According to a spokesperson for the New York branch of Madame Tussauds, the popular tourist attraction in Times Square is working on a Gaga figure that should be ready by year’s end. And here’s the best part:

“We’re open to hearing from fans about which looks they want,” said the spokesperson, encouraging Gaga’s “little monsters” to visit NYCWax.com to weigh in on which of Gaga’s many signature styles they would like to see immortalized in wax. While the spokesperson could not comment on a report in a British tabloid that Tussauds is spending more than $1.5 million on the Gaga figures, they did clarify that “many” but not all nine global outlets will get their own Gaga. It is also not yet known if all the Gagas will sport the same look or have different outfits.

The museum is legendary for making wax replicas of the rich and famous, from President Obama and Justin Timberlake to Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, Derek Jeter, former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, Madonna and Beyoncé.

The singer, who is up for a record 13 Moonmen at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, gave Tussauds yet another possibility this week when she set aside female things and posed as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, for the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan. The magazine, which hits newsstands September 5, features a cover shot of Gaga as Calderone with an Elvis pompadour, white shirt and black trousers.

Which of Gaga’s looks do you think Tussauds should immortalize in wax? Leave your comments below!

Britney Spears On Working With Lady Gaga: ‘Anything’s Possible’

From schoolgirl to toxic temptress, Britney Spears has played many characters throughout the years. But the singer took a very different approach for her photo spread in the upcoming issue of the U.K.’s Pop magazine by channeling her inner manga character. In the issue, the pop princess dished about the possibilities of a Lady Gaga collaboration and working with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami for the anime-inspired cover.

Despite Gaga overthrowing Spears as the most-followed celebrity on Twitter, the singer had no hard feelings toward pop’s newest sensation. “I’m a big fan of hers,” she said when asked about working with Gaga. “Anything’s possible!”

A collaboration between the pop stars doesn’t seem out of the question, as Gaga’s mega-hit “Telephone” duet with Beyoncé was originally offered to Spears.

Donning a white wedding dress and a veil with matching gloves, Spears innocently poses in a field of flowers on the cover. In another photo, the singer trades the dress for a leg-baring getup accessorized with a red backpack.

Spears’ manga-style shoot was shot by Todd Cole with art direction from Takashi Murakami, who is often referred to as the “Andy Warhol of Japan.” While the spread strays from the singer’s typical styling, the pop star enjoyed working with the artist. “I loved working with Takashi,” she said. “I especially liked how he took high-end fashion and incorporated it with Japanese manga.”

The singer’s tour to Japan was what originally piqued her interest in Japanese culture. “We looked at a lot of characters and artwork before we shot, so I could get a feel for what he was looking for,” she explained. “I was in Japan on my past promo tour, and I loved it.”

Editor in Chief Dasha Zhukova spoke to Style.com about the singer’s Japanese treatment: “She’s feminine, sassy, strong-willed, determined: all the things a great Pop icon should be. Couple that with some Japanese swimsuits and a Rodarte wedding gown, and I think she is pretty much Pop personified!”

Spears couldn’t wait to share her excitement for her photo shoot with fans. The pop star took to Twitter, saying, “I just saw the photos for the first time and they are beautiful. Comes out Sept. 1st. Thanks @TakashiPom — Britney.”

Aside from gracing the cover of Pop magazine, the singer has already filmed a cameo for her “Glee” tribute episode and is working on completing the follow-up to 2008′s Circus.

Lady Gaga’s millions of fans have another title to call their Mother Monster: Queen of Twitter.

After steadily gaining on Britney Spears, who until recently was the most-followed user on the social-networking site, Gaga surpassed her fellow pop supernova over the weekend by landing over 5.7 million followers. At press time, Gaga’s Twitter army clocked in at 5,726,168 deep, besting Brit, who had 5,696,275 followers. Just days ago, the chart-toppers were neck-and-neck, with Spears boasting 5,646,028 Twitter peeps to Gaga’s 5,635,460.

When Gaga learned she had dethroned Spears, she took to the Internet to thank the people who made it all possible: her fans. In a video posted online, Gaga doles out heaps of “monster” love to her followers for solidifying her digital dominance.

Sporting a lace headpiece adorned with a sequined Twitter logo and an ornamental Gaga-fied version of the site’s familiar bird symbol, the singer addressed her nearly 6 million followers.

“Hello world, this is Lady Gaga, queen of Twitter,” said the singer, with a flourish of an illuminated scepter and a sprinkle of glitter; a move that was part-Elizabethan royalty and part-Glinda the Good Witch. “I wanted to thank all my beautiful little monsters for following me. Thank you for beginning my reign as Twitter queen.”

The singer then wished her Twitter-dom only the most enjoyable of experiences when logging onto the micro-blogging site.

“May you always have soft cuticles while tweeting,” Gaga said wistfully. “May you never have carpal tunnel.”

The “Alejandro” singer, who filmed the clip backstage at her Monster Ball Tour stop in Tacoma, Washington, promised to keep the Twitter nonsense to a minimum. “I vow never to partake in celebrity online shenanigans,” Gaga said. “And I vow to always tweet and tweet again.”

Before signing off, Gaga left her legions of viral fans with a few words of encouragement.

“Just remember that I love you,” Gaga said. “And love you yourself. Because little monsters, you were born that way, baby. I love you Twitter. See you at the Monster Ball.”

Lady Gaga Finds Inspiration in ‘Dark Places’

(Bauer Griffin) Gaga doesn’t usually doesn’t take the conventional route — and apparently she’s always been that way. She dropped out of college a few years ago, has taken drugs (which helped her creativity), and now she wears studded bras and fake blood in concert! She’s not ashamed of her choices, and talks freely about her past often.

The 24-year-old pop star recently said: “[Using drugs] I really figured out the art I wanted to make and was inspired. Some people find inspiration in dark places. I guess I’m one of them. What always made me different is that if I was doing drugs I was also making music. I wasn’t just doing drugs.”

The eccentric singer – real name Stefani Germanotta – also revealed her mother Cynthia didn’t understand why she felt she needed to take drugs and was confused by her early performances. She told Q magazine: “At the beginning I was doing performance art in handmade leather and leopard bikinis talking about oral sex and Andy Warhol and heavy metal. My mom was like, ‘You’ve lost your mind.’ I was doing drugs, I was really out of control. But I never got so far into it that I overdosed or anything.”

However, Gaga is adamant she doesn’t need drugs anymore and has toned down her wild lifestyle. She explained: “Once you open those doors they’re open for ever. People who say they need [drugs] to be creative are full of s**t. I’m not some chick on the road getting high and f***ed up every night. I wake up, drink coffee and get on the phone to talk about the creative direction of the next video.”

The singer caused a furor recently when she admitted in a magazine interview she occasionally took cocaine. She said: “I won’t lie; it’s occasional. And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year.”

Lady Gaga Morphs Into A Man For Japanese Vogue

A few weeks ago we published some leaked photos of makeup-less Lady Gaga in drag for the September cover of Japanese Men’s Vogue. At the time everyone played coy about the model’s identity, but we all decided it was none other then Gaga in a wife beater, minus the cartoonish face paint and a few creative uses of the lens. Especially after we learned Gaga’s favorite photographer Nick Knight was responsible for the images.

Anyway, here are the covers and a bonus interview of the simple, Sicilian mechanic “Jo Calderone” the magazine plucked off the streets for the cover (WINK).

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
Palermo, Sicily

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DO / YOUR
OCCUPATION?
Mechanic for my dad’s business. This is the first time I’ve had my picture taken.

WHEN DID YOU DISCOVER YOU WANTED TO TO THIS?
Well, I always helped my dad at work, since I was a kid. I thought it would be fun to have my picture taken.

WHAT ARE YOUR AMBITIONS?
I’d love to own my own car shop, I have a bunch of my own ‘muscle’ cars. Maybe if I take some more pictures I can afford it.

WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO LADY GAGA?
I met her at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She’s fuckin beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, “Don’t be baby, you were “born this way.” I took her out after. The rest is private ;)

The piece was shot backstage at a concert in Tacoma, Washington. The 24-year-old singer is currently on the North American leg of her ‘Monster Ball Tour’.

Gaga currently picks up new followers on twitter at an average of around 171,000 a week, according to website famecount.com which analyzed the data. Although she is the most followed star on twitter, she is not the fastest growing; that title goes to teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, who is amassing an average 800,000 new followers each month. Other popular tweeters include actor Ashton Kutcher and musician Taylor Swift, who both have over 3 million followers each.

Gaga, who also dubbed herself “Queen of Twitter” over the weekend, Tweeted pics of herself backstage with the iconic rock band, where they likely traded tips about how not to fall over in ridiculously tall platforms.

Gaga posed with Paul Stanley (the one with the star over his eye) in a pair of rockstar boots that appear to be inspired by the hard rocking band. Her rank in the KISS Army is up for speculation, but she looks like a five-star general from here.

The best part is that someone spotted Gaga and her man at the show and posted a video to YouTube. Looks like the two are rocking out to “Calling Dr. Love” (via PopEater.com) and only a few people realize that Gaga’s in the crowd.

Lady Gaga: “People who say they need drugs to be creative are full of sh-t”

I really wish Lady Gaga would stop talking about drugs. I just get the feeling that she’s trying to sound a lot more hardcore than she really is. Like she’s trying to sound like she was some horrible cokehead, when really she was just a party girl with too much time. But at some point during her metamorphosis into “Lady Gaga” she began selling this story of a cokehead’s downward spiral and the subsequent redemption, all for her family and her music and her monsters. It’s a chrysalis story that Gaga has sold in interview after interview, probably because she doesn’t have a lot of new crap to say. She talked about it Vanity Fair. She talked about in Rolling Stone. And now she’s talking about drugs AGAIN in another new interview with Q Magazine (via Contact Music). We get it, Gaga. You used to do drugs. Now finish your new f-cking album.

Lady Gaga says her experiences with drugs helped inspire her music. The ‘Poker Face’ singer began using illegal substances after she dropped out of a music course at New York University in 2005, and she insists getting high helped her creativity.

The 24-year-old pop star said: “[Using drugs] I really figured out the art I wanted to make and was inspired. Some people find inspiration in dark places. I guess I’m one of them. What always made me different is that if I was doing drugs I was also making music. I wasn’t just doing drugs.”

[From Contact Music]

See? She does coke occasionally, and she’s able to keep it that way. Survey says: she never was an addict. She was just a chick who did coke because she was bored. And now she’s a chick who created this “Myth of Gaga” and can’t stop adding to it. I’m saying this as a fan too – Gaga has the potential to be a great interview. She’s thoughtful, she’s interesting, she has opinions and she’s well-informed (for a pop star). But she needs to stop talking about drugs.

Oh, Gaga did have stuff to say about Paris Hilton though. She was using Paris as a comparison to what Gaga was like growing up: “I don’t see Paris as an artist. People assume that all the girls who went to my school were like Paris and Nicky and the truth is that I went to a very, very religious school. Some girls were very artistic, some did drugs and didn’t give a f**k. It was like any other high school. Except we had nuns. I was the smart, studious theatre and music student. I didn’t hang out with all the popular blonde girls. I wasn’t blonde really until I was 20 years old.” Is this a burn? That Paris isn’t an artist? Eh.

Two extra Lady Gaga Vanity Fair cover image shots have been revealed, and the duo provide an exercise in opposites. In one, she’s completely naked (save for a hand and gray hair to cover her bits) and in the other she’s dressed from head to toe to fingertips in a black lace catsuit by Somarta.

I still think this is a pretty fantastic cover. Which do you prefer?
